The Greater Clark County Area (NV) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated was envisioned by organizers Allison Trotter and Quincella Rivers who enlisted the assistance of organizer Berna Rhodes-Ford.

With an initial call in January 2023, the work began on February 2, 2023 when the three organizers met via telephone to discuss the details of forming an interest group to establish a new chapter of The Links, Incorporated as well as defining what their vision of the chapter would be. The organizers determined that they would enlist members who embraced friendship and friendliness at the highest levels.

On March 25, 2023, the organizers held the first group meeting and all 16 ladies invited to that meeting were in attendance. The initial meetings were called “Lunch with Friends” and the group socialized. The group did not discuss professional titles or community service; they simply took the time to get to know each other. The initial meeting and the majority of subsequent “Lunch with Friends” meetings were held at black-owned restaurants to contribute to the economic power within the black community. The group’s second meeting was held on May 20, 2023, and at that time the members chose the name “Southern Nevada Sistas of Service” to reflect our focus on friendship and service.

During our time as an inquiry group and interest group, the members conducted a number of community service projects, including providing financial and life skills education to foster youth, beautification at Seven Magic Mountains art installation, planting at Obodo Collective community garden, conducting Know Your Rights Townhall for African immigrants following changes to federal immigration policies, and organizing an Art Crawl where students in foster care had the opportunity to experience art in various forms. We also decorated hospital rooms for children with debilitating conditions, assisted African American Girl Scouts obtain their Gold Awards, donated over 150 pair of eyeglasses to an organization in Africa, and celebrated women in the arts with local nonprofit organizations.

Greater Clark County Area (NV) Chapter-Elect of The Links, Incorporated was chartered on January 31, 2026 by 40 women in Clark County and portions of Nye County, Nevada. The Greater Clark County Area (NV) Chapter is committed to upholding the bedrock principles of friendship and service and serve all of Clark County, Nevada.

Today, the Greater Clark County Area (NV) Chapter stands ready to serve the African American community in Clark County and surrounding areas, in ways that touch the unreachable, give voice to the unheard and create hope for those previously overlooked in our beloved community.
